Star Wars Battlefront II Review

Star Wars Battlefront II is the fourth Major installment and seventh overall. It is the sequel to the 2015 Star Wars Battlefront. This action shooter game has been Developed by Ea Dice and published by Electronic Arts.

Star Wars Battlefront II might be the game fans wanted from the Star Wars franchise. This game is visually stunning. The sound design in this game is excellent.  The developers have put in a lot of hard work into visuals so the players can enjoy that they are actually in a Star Wars Universe. It’s that amazing. Flying a Tie fighter, or being Luke Skywalker and killing stormtroopers this game will cleanse the thirst of a star wars fan. The visuals and details of the star wars world in this game are just mesmerizing. But it didn’t have a powerful storyline which was primarily focused on Multiplayer and it has a very clumsy progression system.

Star Wars Battlefront II has a single player campaign. It’s so much interesting to play as Iden Versio an agent of the Empire’s Elite Inferno squad. Iden’s character is satisfying and most importantly its fun to play. Her story will take place between the timeline of Return of the Jedi and The force awakens. So fans will now get a chance to know what had happened during that period. You may find it hard to kill rebel soldiers who we have loved for decades. Flying a tie fighter to destroy a rebellion ship is hard but you will get used to it as you progress. There’s a delicate balance of power how your character moves from dark to the light. But players will find Iden’s character to be satisfying.

Players can complete the campaign within 4 to 5 hours, which we thought was absolutely ridiculous. This game is heavily catered to the multiplayer leaving the single player high and dry.  Mainly because this is supposed to be a strong multiplayer game with an addition of single player campaign as an upgrade from the previous installment. This way of thinking has really affected the game from fun to frustrating.

The multiplayer has almost everything from the previous installment. Players can play Grandscale 40 person Galatic assaults over maps like Hoth and Naboo or small tactical strike with all-out death match. The modes of the game may make the player think about their enjoyment level playing it. All together this game has 11 locations for ground and air combat. Every visual and detail about these maps are simply awesome.

The maps seem to be laid out where you just run and face your inevitable death over and over. But the multiplayer doesn’t encourage players to stay as a team and accomplish their tasks. Four classes are available Assault, Heavy, Officer, and specialist for players to choose from. It is interesting to play as Darth Maul or Yoda and other iconic characters from the star wars franchise. If you are a star wars fan you will have plenty of fun playing these heroes. But more powerful characters such as Luke and Darth Vader has been gated behind in-game currency purchase which is absolutely disappointing.

The gameplay seems to be dull, with its gunplay which is not even close to the modern competitive shooters.  The progressive system is so dull you will find it irritating to progress your character. The more and longer you play the more you will find this game frustrating with its loot crates and progressive system.  But if you don't care about the progressive system and just want to play a star wars game with absolutely stunning visuals with good scale battles this game might suit you.

Verdict :

The Force might have been strong with this one but not enough Midi-Clorians to make a Jedi.
