Ninja Midori is an 8-bit platformer game developed and Published by Bajo Games.

Ninja Midori is an 8-bit platformer game. These kind of games are very rare in this era of games but are a hope for those gamers who like to play challenging games. There is nothing great to expect graphics wise with an 8-bit platformer, but we can expect a good amount of fun in its gameplay. The gameplay mostly involves jumping and escaping the enemies in your path whilst using ninja star blades to clear out enemies wherever needed.

The game starts with introducing you to the context of the game that Akuma the Evil Devil has stolen Princess Sera & the princess has one hope & it’s you Ninja Midori. This simple motivation to save the princess is fair enough for any gamer to keep playing this game until the end. Many great games have been made with just this small & simple concept like ICO, Shadow of Colossus etc. For these kinds of games, it’s gameplay where it shines rather than the story.

I am a gamer who likes to play sitting on my couch with a controller rather than a mouse & keyboard. When I started the game, I did not expect this game to have a controller support but I was amazed by the developers when I found out it had controller support for an 8-bit platformer. The game has mapping information to both PS4 & XBOX controllers.

I have to say that this game is not as easy as it looks. It’s a bit challenging. You only have 3 lives and 10 ninja ammo with each level. Gamers who seek a challenge can definitely find this game amusing and joyful.

I find it very interesting that this game is not just run & escape kind. It can be played with timed strategy. You can time your jumps and attack patterns. There are different kind of enemies and each type move at different speeds. So you have to time your jumps and sprint as per the speeds of different type of enemies. You can also shoot the enemies while jumping. All the levels can be replayed even after finishing them.

Personally, it would have been more fun to me, if it had bonuses in the middle of the level. Bonuses like more ammo in the middle of the level or getting an extra life like in the Mario game.

Average gamers similar to me like to fight with the standard difficulty setting. If they are not able to proceed further due to difficulty, then they tend to decrease the difficulty level to continue further, rather than quitting the game. It is rather not a trend in such type of games to put a difficulty setting, but it would be interesting to put one. I would have found it more amusing if the number of enemies can be decreased or increased based on difficulty setting.

If this game is ported to Android or iPhone, gamers would have a blast playing this one. It would be more interesting to introduce a reward system in place, like collecting gems with each level, as the reward system improves the replay value by motivating gamers to collect something. It would be a nice to have a feature to buy ammo with the collected reward points.

Verdict:

An Interesting 8-bit Platformer game which is fun and challenging.

God Of War Review :

God Of War 2018 is an action-adventure game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and developed by Santa Monica Studios.

Reborngamers Review :

God of war is a game that leaves you with an awesome and mind-blowing experience by the time you finish it. This is a game emotionally driven that gradually builds a strong relationship between father & son. Many seem to compare this with "The Last of Us" & I should say they are not wrong in a positive way, as this game will deliver that same strong emotional journey in an absolutely amazing God of war way.

I have played all the GOW games and I had my doubts when I started this game because the fighting system with an axe seemed new and the skill progression system like RPG games was a new thing to GOW series. I imagined to be difficult to play all the game with an axe, but boy I liked the axe so much, that I ended up using it most of the time ignoring other weapons.

As I am a fan of the series, I was determined to play it, no matter the consequences of me liking it or not. The previous GOW titles were fairly 10 to 12 hours long and felt awesome even with such short length. But this game was made, keeping in mind the new trend in the gaming industry for lengthy games and designed with various RPG elements to improve skills, weapons, armor, bestiary etc. After almost more than 30 hours into the game, I still have the feeling to play more & want more.

GOW was the first game on my PS2. GOW3 was the first game on my PS3. This is a game known to many non-gamers as well. Whenever I share my experience of my gaming with noobs& non-gamers, the first question I get from them is "Did you play God of war?"

Let's analyze the game with more depth. Starting with the Story of the game.

Santa Monica Studio always had a great immersive way of storytelling. This title does not disappoint you in any way in terms of storytelling. With no spoilers, it's a story about taking the ashes of a wife/mother to a place she wished before her death. The journey that this father & son take from here brings you an incredible experience. Throughout your path, you meet different people, learn different things and learn more about Norse mythology.

By the time you are done with the game, you will understand how a Spartan/Kratos from Greek mythology fits into this Norse mythology. There are some parts & pieces left out without proper explanation, like how is Kratos alive after GOW 3. But these kinds of things are left to our imagination, and boy, people may come up with their own theories and you can google about the same. Be careful not to get into spoilers of the story while googling J

Next, we will speak about the combat system. The combat is a bit different in this one compared to previous GOW titles. The previous GOW titles featured a pure hack & slash combat mechanics and the upgrade was only possible with the collection of red orbs. But this new game features many new aspects to craft, upgrade, replace etc. When we visit a workshop, we can craft the weapons or armor we wish, provided we have enough money or resources required to craft that item. We can upgrade the strength, damage & stun capabilities of the weapons we have. Like magical capabilities in previous GOW titles, this one has "Heavy runic attack", "Light runic attack" & "Talisman".

Throughout the game, we are provided with different kind of these magical attacks, which can always be replaced with newer and powerful versions as we go more deeply into the game. Again each magical attack can be enhanced with enhancements that are spanned out all over the game. Enhancements can also be crafted at the workshop.To summarize, the combat mechanics & design have been vastly improved. My Kratos will be different from the Kratos you play, due to the difference in configuration of runic attacks, talisman etc

Santa Monica studio has a devoted commitment to always deliver the best visual themes in GOW series. Graphics in this game are awesome. The textures are very clear the detail put in each area is subpar. For any fast combat paced game, fps is very important. If there is any lag in fps, the combat feels sluggish and we lose the immersion. Even though this game runs at 30 fps, it is strictly locked to that fps, without us feeling the fps lag during combat.

The music & voice acting are amazing. I constantly find myself repeating the phrase in Kratos voice - "Boy, what are you doing". The music during combat is very good and you feel it very right as per the situation.

After playing Witcher 2 & 3, Final Fantasy 15 etc, I have got more accustomed to playing and liking RPG games. I like the progression system in RPG games and the more time we spend on learning & developing the character, the more better the game plays. This game adopts the RPG elements allowing us to level up Kratos and enhance our weapons & armor. So the Kratos from different gamers feels different and plays differently.

There are many side quests offered in this game. The more you explore these quests, the more items you find to enhance Kratos. A couple of the areas are visible but locked. Such areas are accessible after you complete some amount of the main story. Also, new areas seem to open up as the main story passes. We can take our time to explore as much as we can and upgrade Kratos with the rewards found from these optional quests.

The game also offers endgame content. You are free to roam after the main story is complete to explore further, which I have yet to do. Valkyries – a unique kind of enemies are end game content. When I first had a chance to fight Valkyrie, I did not realize how powerful these are. I tried to fight for more than 30 minutes and then realized that these are not meant to beat mid game.

The game absolutely has very good replay value. The narrative is amazingly told and story alone makes it worth playing again. Since this game has RPG elements, it is nice to see how we can upgrade our Kratos in our next play through and beat the game with different options. It is also nice to explore everything before completing the game, instead of exploring as end game content, since gamers tend to lose interest in end game content, no matter how amazing the game is.

I have heard that there is going to be a patch released sooner with "New game +" option. If this is a confirmed news, then "New game +" will be a blast to play.

Verdict :

What are you waiting for? This is one of those absolutely must play games which is worth every penny you spend on the game. This is one of those games, which you keep in your games collection as a classic one. Hell, this game should be the reason for any gamer to buy a PS4.

Farcry 5 is an Open world action-adventure first-person shooter game published by Ubisoft and developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto. We have been fans of the beloved game series from Ubisoft from the start. So let’s have a look at what farcry5 has to offer.

Reborngamers Review :

The story of this game takes place in fictional Hope County, Montana, USA. The game starts as the player a Deputy Sheriff of the government on your way with other authorities to Issue a warrant of arrest of the cult Leader Joseph Seed AKA “The Father”. Joseph Reed is the villain who runs a religious doomsday Cult called Eden’s gate, and their followers are named “ Peggies”. You fail miserably and your friends are caught by the enemy and their whereabouts unknown. Now the player has to join the resistance and try to liberate Hope county from the fanatics.

Hope County, Montana is big, it's beautiful and most importantly its fun. The formula used by Ubisoft in FarCry games are in this game too but with satisfying modifications. They are trying to move the franchise from the old formula. The capturing of territories or liberating bases are there in this game, but the climbing of towers have been removed which is good for the game. The player will discover missions and activities when you happen to cross over them, or when meeting a character which will send you in the right direction. The game is much more engaging in this way rather the tiresome tower climbing. It feels much more organic.

The Basics: Rescue and Recruit people for your cause, Liberate outposts, Do main missions and side missions.It's all present in this game, but the interesting thing about the game is how they have cleverly implemented the formula into the game. It is much more engaging when you're constantly thrown back into the action without you having time to take a deep breath. The mission design is excellent in this game. You liberate an outpost, and now you see a Cult convoy passing through, you chase them and kill them, you can see a cult silo nearby. There is so much to do in this game.

Let's get into the World Map. As previously said its big, but denser than previous games. The regions of the map are controlled by the Joseph seed’s 3 siblings Faith, John, and Jacob Seed. It’s a good addition to the game where the players have to face these three Herald Bosses. The interesting and engaging thing for the player is total freedom to do whatever they want. There is no forced path for the player that the game dictates, you can hit an outpost on John’s region and immediately go to faith’s region to rescue a hostage.This system makes the players independent and enjoys the game to its maximum.

The map has a lot to offer to the player, its nearly 40 missions, 7 outposts and cult properties to destroy.By doing main missions and side activities the player gains resistance points for the regions, Once you have reached the threshold you get access to kill the herald bosses which takes you one step closer to Joseph seed“The Father”.You can also recruit specialists from the regions once you have completed specific tasks.

Speaking of recruitment, Farcry 5 has the most interesting aspects about companions. You can recruit civilians into your resistance these recruits can level up and learn new abilities. The more powerful recruits are the specialists from the regions. Animal Companions like Boomer and Peaches are exciting, Boomer can sniff out enemies and attack them whereas peaches a Cougar is more stealth attacker. Most importantly they can revive you when you are down, So if you see a downed ally go revive them immediately to give yourself more assistance.We absolutely loved the way Ubisoft has implemented this ally system into the game.

Combat is more satisfying in this installment, A good amount of variety in weapons, with Limited Ammo and Med Kits and unpredictable enemies, makes Farcry 5 much more intense and thrilling. Vehicle collection is also an interesting fact in farcry5. It's really impressive with all the vehicles the game has to offer for the player to traverse the beautiful open world. The side activities like fishing, hunting, crafting are immense fun and have been perfected. Stealth is a good way to approach outposts and bases, taking down 3 to 4 enemies and beginning the assault is more fun than running in guns blazing.

As usual, Good things are done and let's move to the bad ones. The depth of the story lacks highly in farcry5. When a game revolves around religious beliefs there is a delicate balance to withhold. The game does a decent job in it but sometimes felt a little disturbing with the crucifixions you can see in your travels. Considering the fact the Cult is dedicated fanatics whose beliefs oppose drugs, you can see the majority of the enemies charging towards you in the influence of a drug called “Bliss”. There is absolutely no need for the drug to be implemented into the game. The game’s AI enemies lack in variety. There is no real history of the character the players play. All throughout the game you are called Rookie or Deputy, Is it hard to name a playable character Ubisoft? Character Creation for a character who doesn’t have a name “Funny”. The weak story and bland characters are the real enemies of Farcry5.

Verdict:

A Refreshing game from the farcry franchise. The amazing individual features clustered into one Awesome game. With all its amazing aspects it still needs a little push to make it the best in the series. A game which is really fun and an excellent Farcry.

A Way Out Review

A Wayout is an action adventure game published by Electronic Arts and developed by Hazelight. After Brothers: A Tale of Two sons this is the second game which is directed by Josef Fares.

Reborngamers Review :

This game is a Co-op game. You can find an online pal to play with you. But we strongly recommend to get your gaming friend or your siblings to have great fun. The game’s primary storyline is to get out of prison and try to hunt the villain who framed both the playable characters.The players have to choose their characters to play and the game begins. Two characters Leo Caruso and Vincent Moretti are the convicts the players can play. Loe Caruso in already in the prison as Vincent is new to the prison. Leo Caruso has some issues with the other inmates which triggers both players into co-op mode. Both the characters hatch a plan to escape the prison.

Co-op is the key formula in this game. We were amazed the hard work the developers have put into this game. The Dynamic split screen is amazing. The screen can split vertically, Horizontally and evenly, this experience is really unique and interesting. The duo has to figure out a way to the prison, whether it's distracting a guard while the other player is removing a bolt to escape his cell or obtaining tools to the breakout.

This game’s gameplay is thrilling, engaging and there will be a lot of communication between the players.It's a Unique concept which the developers have created and the game does give them credit. This game has some amazing actions sequence as the camera flips from one player to another, Creating thrilling experiences throughout the game is wonderful. The storyline is acceptable considering the fact that the developers have tried to give the players a unique and thrilling experience. The sound of the game adds an extra layer in the thrilling experience.

Once out of the prison the players can explore a varied and more interesting environment. It’s small but dense and it's colorful. As the players can travel to a farm, a trailer park or a cinema.these locations and really fun. Other action sequences such as car chases and shootouts are not new, but very much acceptable. The cop chase sequences have some amazing choreography.

All good things up to this point right? Let's get into the bad ones. There are issues when a player is in a deep and emotional cutscene the other player can just relax and run around. After nearly 7-8 hrs of gaming with the characters, You will never find any emotions between the characters. The cutscenes seem to overlap as one player finds it hard to hear what has been said on his screen. The game doesn’t have effective facial or body animations. The storyline is not unique or refreshing. You can easily find animation flaws in this game. Apart from the two main characters, you cannot find any interesting characters in the game. Constantly tapping buttons to reach a vent might feel to be overdone. We sometimes felt that all the action happening on both screens seems to be overdone and we lost concentration at multiple times. The endgame is not powerful to the amazing and unique experience we had. The game lacks heavily on narrative and voice acting.

Verdict:

A Unique and daring experiment. The co-op is the real winner here. The thrills are really there when trying to escape the prison.Apart from that, the game will feel mediocre.

Metal Gear Survive Review

Metal gear survive is an Action-adventure Survival game published and developed by Konami.

Reborngamers Review :

This game starts immediately after the events of Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zero Prologue. The mother base is completely destroyed by a wormhole which sucks the player into its path, and the next thing the player is in another dimension and a world called Dite. This dite is a world filled with zombie-like creatures called the wanderers(Humans Affected by the parasite and transform into Wanderers). Dite is a barren desert filled with wrecked cars, abandoned outposts. So the player has set up base camp, look for survivors, scavenge for supplies and ultimately try to get back to their world by creating another wormhole.

The world which Konami has developed is boring, uninspiring and tedious. You can try to explore the world but mostly you will find Wanderers and supplies to build the base. The player has to constantly look for food and water. Constantly scavenge for supplies to build your base. The game’s story is boring and frustrating. All the player will do throughout the game by picking up each and every supply on the ground. It's just really frustrating. Scavenging supplies to build structures like wormhole transporters, which is similar to fast travel and other defensive buildings for your base will be the primary objective of the game.

The character animations are of low grade. Player’s character movement actions are so degrading. Voice acting is just ridiculous. The gameplay is just simple and ancient. Most of the wanderers are predictable and very easy to kill. Enemies are not the real threat in the game. The combat is unpleasant and it's repetitive. Thrusting your spear and swinging your axe or sledgehammer will be primary attributes in combat and you will be doing it until the game ends.

Some good things are there in this game like base building. Turning your base into a working defensible structure will be the primary and satisfying thing you will do all game. Building water tanks, and growing vegetables and livestock seems interesting and satisfying. Crafting weapons and cooking stations are fun parts of the game. Base building is not an easier task to do. Building defense structures to hold the enemies seems acceptable. Defending the wormhole Transporters is the enjoyable moment in this game. Apart from these things the game doesn’t have much good to offer. There’s a multiplayer, you can team up with your friends to survive the hordes of wanderers, its all the same with multiplayer as well.Ultimately this game is not fun.

Verdict :

This is a game which Metal Gear Fans will hate and despite. Better to forgive and forget and wait for a new release from the franchise.

Assassin's Creed Origins Review

Assassins creed Origins is the tenth major installment in the most beloved assassins creed series. This action adventure game is published by Ubisoft and developed by Ubisoft Montreal. We are huge fans of the assassins creed series. We have to admit though the latest 2 games Unity and syndicate have made the series lose its way, Let's hope and have a look at what this game has to offer.

Reborngamers Review :

Assassins creed travels to Ancient Egypt for this installation, and players will be stepping into the shoes of Bayek an ancient warrior called Medjay, whose job is to protect the Pharoah and the people of Egypt. The storyline starts as some mysterious men kill Bayer's Family and to avenge his family he embarks on a quest. The game even crosses paths with the historical figures like Julius Caesar and Cleopatra.

This game has a storyline which is powerful, emotional and engaging. We felt that Bayek is the character to revive the assassins creed series. The series characters from the most loved Altair to the elegant Ezio, players will love Bayek. He’s strong, emotional and compassionate and most of all a cold-blooded killer. We loved how the developers have used their Original formula to revive the series in the form of origins. Character Design just stands out. The character models and effects of the environment in this game are really mind-blowing.

The Open world Ancient Egypt is absolutely stunning. Players can do so much in exploring Ancient Egypt, the huge map is beautiful and it is so lively, with people doing their routine, and animals interacting with their surroundings.There are deserts, small villages with farms, large cities with densely populated cities, Oasis, you name it this game has it all. Its just amazing how much detail and hard work they have put in to build this beautiful Egypt filled with architecture and religions. Players can go on explore mode by doing side missions which are very good. Players will have immense fun and satisfaction in exploring ancient Egypt.

The main story will require experience to progress through the game. The players will need XP points to even call in a fair fight with the enemy. Xp points can be achieved by doing some side missions. The recommended level will determine how strong the enemies are compared to your character level. The XP system will also unlock new abilities for your character whether its stealth, ranged or melee.So players can modify how their character's play style.There is also a loot based weapons system for upgrading your weapons.

The Combat is this game powerful, it encourages players to be stealthy. The Melee weapons do a lot of damage and striking from far with your bow without the enemy noticing is fun.The combat system in this game is much more engaging. Scouting with your eagle for marking enemies seems a little sci-fi oriented theme but its totally acceptable. The enemies in this game will also level up and will be tough to beat as the player progresses, so have a good look at the enemy level before engaging in combat.

Verdict :

A game which had all the good recipes of the previous successful games in the series. The game which we fans waited for from the franchise. This game has made its beginnings in an excellent way, it will be interesting to see where Ubisoft will go for their next installation. Bayek is a true assassin.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Review

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an action-adventure game filled with dark fantasy. It hard to believe they developed the game with 20 developers. The game is published and developed by Ninja theory which has done a damn good job.

Hellblade Senua's sacrifice is awesome. This game is not your traditional horror stuff, but it will play with your mind, its target is to mingle with the human psychology which will be more terrifying. That makes the game creepy and amazing.

The title of the game pretty much tells the story of the game.The plot of the game will start as Senua (Celtic Warrior). The Vikings have destroyed her village and sacrificed her lover to the Norse Gods. The quest for Senua is to get her lovers soul back from the goddess Hela.During her duration through hell Senua has her mental breakdown, visions, hallucinations everything there is related to psychology. Ninja theory has consulted with A professor of the Cambridge University to implement the theory. It is absolutely creepy it will touch your mind, it's just that good. The voices are constant, they will advise, warn, make you panic and will be heard.

The visual effects in this game are terrific. The close third person view will make the players hear the voices in their minds.The mystical land revolves around the Norse legend. The game's visuals and lighting are good in a creepy way. The audio design just complements the previous two. The game has puzzles to open doors or to track down a god of tricks, it will not bog you down, whereas these are the times when the creepy fear creeps into your mind.

The combat of this game is just spectacular, the variety of enemies to face and the bosses just amazes us. Ninja Theory has given us a game which is powerful in combat. The enemies will be tough, it will not be a cakewalk. The AI is consistent and intelligent. It will taunt you and you will respect it. The bosses are even harder with spectacular variety. The focus system in this game is amazing, considering you have to figure it first, then it's just really fun.

But we felt the lack of tutorials in this game, it's not only the combat the whole game doesn’t have a tutorial so the player has to figure it themselves. But once the player figures the combat combos and the puzzles this game turns to be a visual treat. There is no way of the player knowing how many health bars they have lost or remaining, but the distortions of the screen will let you know the health bar as you begin to familiarize with it. The duration of the game will be short but we can expect more from the development team in the future.

Verdict :

A game which has a powerful character and storyline to back it up. Its creepy, elegant combat, beautiful visuals, and lightings complimented with its sound make this game A Unique experience.It is one of the best games of 2017. Senua's sacrifice is worth it.
