Civilization VI: Rise & Fall Review
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is the first expansion for the game Civilization VI. The game was published by 2K Games and developed by Firaxis games.
Reborngamers Review :
As we all know that expansions are only used to rectify previous mistakes and improve the quality of the game for the gamers. Civilization VI was not an amazing game which had many issues. Expansions are always meant to be upgrades for the particular game. In this review, we will not be going in each and every detail about the game’s upgrade, whereas we will tell you about the important and effective ideas implemented in the game.
To start there are 3 main upgrades with this expansion pack which is good. Rise and Fall are much more acceptable with the style of sandbox implemented. With the addition of the Citizen Loyalty, it's not a new feature to the game series but it makes it much clearer than ever. Then comes the appointments of Governors who are powerful units which offer different strengths in the game. Installing a governor to a city will keep the loyalty in check. For players who thought that the game is pushing them to conquest all the time, Rise and fall have solutions as you are allowed to follow the path culture, religion, and trade but you will eventually be compelled to go against wars with factions.
Civilization VI greatly lacks in diplomacy and awful AI. Rise and fall address these issues in a delicate manner possible. Diplomacy has to be achieved now in different types of alliances. These alliances will be from military to research. The longer you have alliance the stronger the shared bonus will become. This removes the loneliness felt by the players while playing civilization VI.
Finally, Ages & eras, progression through era’s is not a new concept, but the way it has been implemented is pretty new.The world also advances with you while you are moving to a new era.Influence and loyalty points are determined with the players who are ahead and low points for the players who are behind. It's not hard to propel yourself from the dark ages to the golden age. Apart from these three main factors, you have Additional factions. Rise and fall has really improved the gameplay which Civilization 6 gave us. The Ai is much more acceptable compared to the ridiculous Ai which we had in civilization 6. This makes the game realistic and enjoyable than its precedessor. It still has some Ai and Ui fixes.
Verdict:
This game is much more enjoyable and acceptable compared to its predecessor. This expansion is definitely a complete game of civilization 6.
